Ok, so my google-fu has abandoned me.

I'm writing a song for someone, and trying to come up with a good transition from dorian to blues scale, but can't seem to get it seamless - the sixth lingers. Are there any good sites out there that deal with transitions? Books?
What do you guys use?

Change the key. If in A move up to A# for the change or vice versa?

That will certainly kill off the lingering sixth, but it's kind of a sledgehammer segue?
I could jump from a C# dorian to an E pentatonic and slide back into a C# blues scale, I guess, without it being too jarring. Must try. With two fingers of anejo and some lime, it might work.
