I saw this on a TV show last night. Really cool diddley bow (cigar box guitar) made from Cyprus tree "driftwood" taken from the Mississippi River. I saw it on a Canadian show on the AUX TV network called Guitar Picks. You can get at it from http://www.aux.tv but the site is not easy to navigate. Youtube was easier, but doesn't give the documentary.

If it doesn't have a power tube in the circuit...I'm not that interested

A diddley bow isn't the same as a cigar box guitar. The diddley bow doesn't have a resonator like the cigar box - the bridge, usually a bottle or tin can, is the resonator. It's also always single-string, while a cigar box guitar can have multiple strings.
