I can't believe what they were able to come up with for $650 US while we were busting our chops to design a Forum guitar hoping to get it close to $1000. I can only assume that what we had in mind was more than just possible, but not really in the interests of the company to help us with. Wonder how many units Amazon pre-ordered?.

Too bad it's Amazon exclusive. I've boycotted Amazon over the one-click patent since 2001, and am not about to stop now.

It's just a standard mim telecaster with a fancy paint job. Just a gimmick and Mick and Keith already purloin enough of my money.

I have no doubt that a Standard MIM Tele would have served our purpose well and with a less complicated artwork. It's going for $650 as the set. For the guitar alone, it would be a tad less and it also would have been nice if they could have offered us the courtesy of a near cost price.

I'll bet they sell out of 'em.

-Initially banned "bathroom wall" album cover art adorns the front of the guitar.

-Charmingly decadent "banquet" imagery from the album's inner gatefold adorns the back.

-A laser-etched neck plate shows each instrument's limited edition number.

-Includes special edition 'Clearly Classic' "Beggars Banquet" album produced from the original masters and pressed on 180-gram clear vinyl.

-The included Fender guitar wall hanger allows guitar to be displayed safely and easily. A gig-bag and special shipping box adorned with Rolling Stones LP cover art completes the package.

I have no doubt they will sell out. they are still just a mim standard telecaster with a fancy finish. Personally, I would feel a little embarrassed to play one in public, just my opinion though. :)

There's clearly a manufacturing error on this guitar.
It has one string too many.

Nice guitar, but I was wondering how to convert it into a head?

I've generally found these MIM's to be decent instruments. If we did a Forum guitar simply like this, it would serve our purpose at at cost most could bear. As for public display on your part, ultimately leading to a fall from grace, I think not. The serial number is on the BACK of the headstock, now.

It's a novelty guitar and novelty sells.

Good thought Doc, thanks for posting. Nice Telecaster, some guitar players are going to be very happy. :D

I think MIM Fenders are fine. I have 7 strats 3 of which are mim. It is not country of manufacture, it is the "novelty guitar" factor as Miami Mike has called it that would make me feel silly. :D

IMHO, the art is far more interesting without the name of the band slapped across it. I'd go for that alone as a novelty. Of course, the real purpose of the campaign is to sell a million copies of the re-release, isn't it :?:  The first three hundred copies, sold for a princely sum, come with a free guitar.
