Yesterday Blinkers dropped off my Epi '61 Les Paul Custom with the freshly installed Vineham pickups. When I plugged her into my AC-15 I was floored by the almost single coil chime that came from them when played clean. It's when the master volume is overdriven that she really shines, the raunch that the pichups creates is incredible but it isn't like the ear-splitting treble like head-banger types go for but it's more of the type of overdriven smooth raunch that Mike Bloomfield got on his "It's Not Killing Me" album.Even the middle pickup sounded sweet in the overdrive mode. The neck pickup was just beautifully addictive because it gave me the real Claptonesque "woman tone" that EC got on Cream's "Disraeli Gears"album on songs such as "Strange Brew".With the Top Boost engaged the bridge pickup really could scream like a banshee and the sustain is incredible, the notes just linger indefinitely. It would behoove anyone in the market for PAF type pickups built to the original specs to try out a set of Craig Vineham's "Sweet V-59" pickups, especially since his pickups are much cheaper than all of the upmarket pickups that can't hold a candle to them for sound quality and authentic PAF tone. His pickups are much cheaper than most standard replacement pickups anyway so they are well worth checking out, especially since they are pretty well bound to be much more than just satisfactory to you.

Yeah that guitar is a tone monster for sure with those pups installed. I will always be a customer of his. Pound for pound the best pup you'll buy for the money.

Got my Vivids and the '59 yesterday. I've decided I'm gonna build me a Partsocaster to make use of them. Got me a neck coming from eBay and a body from Warmoth. After I build my amp I'm gonna start in on the Strat. Amp work will start shortly.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
