Yea, I'm gonna be 18 in like 2 weeks or some $@!&, so I need to find a suitable side arm to pick up on the cheap.

I'm looking for something old (older than me), USA/Japan made, reliable, hardtail, and most importantly, completely non traditional in terms of what the masses think of when they think "electric guitar" (meaning nothing boring)

There's a Peavey T-15 on my local CL in literally NOS condition for $200 with a hard case, but it's such a good deal that I'm not sure if it'l last another 2 weeks.

Just throw suggestions, all are welcome as long as they fit the criteria listed above.

Yes, that's why I have a raging hard on for this thing. Probably the best looking one I've ever seen. It is quite literally in perfect condition.

I have to wait for the excuse of it being a gift, which may be too late.

Just remember that the T-15 is a baby-sized guitar, very small beginner size for little kids. For an adult, or even an 18-year-old, it will seem very small and weird. I currently own Peavey T-15, T-25, T-30 and T-60 guitars of the older vintage, but if I was you I would hold out for a Peavey Predator made in the USA. You can still find these in great shape for $100-$150 and they're fine instruments.

My Guild is tiny compared to my 6'2/240lb frame. I'm all for small guitars. I like being able to move around.

I'm really considering it. I know these are good guitars.

Several on ebay auctions (where one can sometimes get a good deal) at any given time:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0 ... _Auction=1

(case is an amp; how's that for funky?) (that does sound pretty flipping cool--how do these case amps sound? work on battery so can play in the street??)

Derek seems to have some kind of line on obscure guitars. His pics show a few interesting ones. Maybe he'll weigh in here or you could send him a PM.

The guy on Craigslist seems to be right on the money. if that case has the built in amp, I'd probably lose myself. I really need that guitar. My birthday can't come soon enough...

Who is Derek and how do I summon him?

bro tell parents buy now open gift later.....2 on ebay right now with amp-case you could get for about $270 including shipping

sunburst and natural wood

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Peavey- ... 4d13b0d25e

(the amp is 50 watts????!???? solid state but still....flipping 15W line 6 can get loud)

how cool would it be if that case-amp gives some kind of funky decent clean and then you can put pedal in front of it and play on a street corner???

I just hope this thing gives the Guild a run for its money.

bidding ends in 7 hours on that one I posted....52 bidders indicates it's legit....others did the homework for you. probably goes up at last minute to $300 plus shipping

I'm intrigued by that amp-case..... yeah there are plenty of battery-powered amps available, but that's just cool if it sounds decent in any way

I mean, I'm talking about the CL one. It's in immaculate shape.

and yea, I own a 1986 Peavey Envoy 110. I can attest to them being great amps. I wish Peavey's new stuff didn't suck so much.

Ahhh, I've been on and off and forgotten the few names I knew.

Yea, he does have quite the collection. I love it when he posts pictures.
