I saw Clapton in Toronto last night and was sitting 14 rows from the stage and was blown away. The tickets were insanely expensive but my god what a show.
I would strongly recommend to everyone who has not had the chance to see him live to do so.
As good as the Crossroads DVD's are they certainly do not do him justice!

I wanted to go so badly, but the prices were way too much. I'm sure it was awesome though.

I saw EC in Dallas in 04 at he first Crossroads Benefit. I bought the tickets in February; flew my then girlfriend now wife and myself down there from Seattle; stayed with her sister in Ft. Worth and drove sister's car back and forth all three days. I bought my Epiphone Dot there; met Nathan East; and lots of folks from Fender, Marshall, and Digitec.
When I saw EC play (my first time seeing him) I was in tears it was so beautiful.
Last year I saw him in Seattle at the Key Arena on March 10th. he played stuff from the Dominos; my fave "Got to get better in a little while" from the "In Concert" Dominos release; I was in tears all night it was just phenominal!
I want to go see him again!
I have been listening to EC seems like all my life but since the late '60s anyway.
Just a phenominal player; he's so expressive!

Saw him for the 1st time last April in KC...I was blown away! He did a 10 min ver. of Little Wing that made me want to cry. Then played an awesome ver of Queen of Spades and it made what to just quit playing the guitar, cause I will never sound like that :)

Saw him from the fourth row a while back. Pretty awesome concert. "Gottta Get Better in a Little While", "Queen of Spades", and "Little Wing" were definite highlights.

He is playing near me in July, but I don't know if I like his music enough to go see him play.

I realize all this is subjective; it's just that he's such an incredable player!

As a artist/guitarist you should go see him play just as any artist would go to a show of Picaso or some other classic artist; that you "don't knoiw if you like him enough" is really some thing I never thought I would hear anyone say; this guy is a pioneer of guitar expression.
Ever read the instructions that come with a cry baby wa pedal ? They used to say some thing like " listen to Eric Clapton or Jimmie Hendrix" to get the idea of how to use this pedal".

I won't lie, before I saw him he was one of the standard guitar inspirations to me, but I never knew much about him past the obvious hits. Leading up to the concert I got into his stuff a lot more and the show ended up being great.

I'm going to see him in 30 days with VIP tickets I'm so excited I want to bash my head against a wall. I'm that excited.

I wanted to go, but no one would go with/drive me. I was even willing to pay for the tickets.

I wish that bloody fast ferry was still here, Rochester to Toronto was only about 40 minutes across the lake, instead of a three-hour drive.

I saw EC a couple months after he did the Chicago Crossroads, in '07 at the Staples Center in LA. Not only was he Great, but Doyle Bramhall II, Butch Trucks, and his Keyboad player also Kicked. So did Robert Cray, who opened up. They did an INTENSE Crossroads with all four Guitar Players at the end, Robert Cray sang it. But when the audience went nuts for a second encore, the House Lights came on and everybody Boo'd for a split second, like a knee jerk reaction. Then everybody was like, "Wait, I can't just boo Clapton." It was a great show, even with only one encore.

I saw EC with SRV and others on Aug 26, 1990. Stevie died later that night....

It was one of the most amazing sets I have ever seen.

I wish I could've seen SRV so bad. And I want to see Clapton really bad too. Who knows, I might just do that.
