I have yet to see one negative review for these amps. Everything I have read has been positive (so far). Where are these negative reviews you're seeing? Please provide links/sources (other than from this forum).

Any links with the good reviews, thanks.

Heck - just see for yourself...

I did find one review:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/fender-68-custom-deluxe-reverb-22w-1x12-tube-guitar-combo-amp-with-celestion-g12v-70-speaker

Hope that helps!

They are not reissues. They are Vintage Modified. But I hear the trem-tick problem is still there like the 65 reissues.

Would like a Bandmaster Reverb myself. Or a Deluxe Head with a 2x12 cab.

with reverb and tremolo on both channels?

Why not opting for a non-master Vintage Modified Dual Showman Reverb?

:D

It would be good to see an independent review of the '68 custom amps.

Those are paid for by the manufacturer, and certainly they are positive and always in superlative.

Independent we need ..

:)

I for one wonder why Fender did (another ho-hum) reissue on a Silverface?!? With that said I own an early production 1968 silverface Pro Reverb that has a factory blackface circuit. With the exception of a tone pot which I just replaced this amp is original including the tubes that was installed in the amp at the factory along with the original speakers and the two prong AC cord with the Fender logo. Yes I will try one the reissues out but I won't be buying one. Sorry Fender.

Well, it's not a reissue. It's called "vintage modified" for a reason. And if you are still playing with the original two prong AC cord, that right there tells us all we need to know about your IQ level.

If I were you, I wouldn't mention that AC cord when you sign up for Obamacare. Your premiums will go through the roof!

Well excuse me for calling the new amps by the wrong name. As far as my IQ level;nothing wrong with it (I'm way too smart to be a liberal prez supporter). Sure I'm pushing my luck. But this is why my PR sits idle a lot.

I prefer two prong cords on everything from TVs to amps that is why I'm converting my computer to use a Commodore 64 PSU haha

I recently received my 68 PRRI, and have really liked it. It definitely breaks up much faster...I think I can get it to break up around 4 with my Tele. I did find a couple of problems when it first arrived -- got it via MF. When the amp arrived, it seemed to have a nasty rattle at higher volumes >6 on low notes, especially G and F#. After some basic troubleshooting with a friend by pressing down on the top of the amp, we were able to isolate it to the amp chassis. I tightened the screws on the top of the amp, and that seemed to resolve that rattle. Then, at the same high volumes, there was a rattle coming from either the speaker, grille, or baffle. I isolated that rattle to the bottom of the grille, and so i tightened the baffle screws a little bit, and that seemed to resolve that rattle. The amp seems to be good now!
