FYI; Bandmix is free to join but you have to pay to communicate. Their bots delete any phone #'s or email addresses from your page if you aren't a subscriber. You can get around that by spelling out your phone # or being creative with your email, like using (AT) instead of @. That's what I did and I've gotten a lot of connections. I just can't contact someone myself unless they do the same thing. Every two weeks Bandmix sends an email with new people in my area and also an email showing who viewed my profile. It's been usefull for me so far.

hey I just found one person in my area who posted a link to her singing on youtube...so I messaged her through youtube!

that's one way it can work too. not to mention you can show yourself playing the music you want to play....they don't stop you from (and they encourage you actually) posting link to your youtube channel....where anyone can message you.

she wants to sing stuff like I want to play too.....hmmmm

very happy for you 8)

can't tell you how tired I am of arrogant people with their crazy demands. just get me in a room full of players who want to play with no egos, and i'll be there all day.

wish you good luck in your new adventure

Her Wanna, got a smartphone? Check out this app:

Thanks, and this kind of thing frustrates me. There are so many of these things...which one actually works? This is already the 2nd one mentioned in this thread. band friend. the other is band mix. then there's form my band etc etc

how do we know which ones actually work and have paid members on the other side of the line to meet?

it's like with dating sites other than match....all the competitors...very few people actually become paid members who can send and receive messages.
Band mix works. I get offers all the time from it you can meet a lot of musicians from it. I makes I a lot easier than word of mouth.
you're saying this band friend app thing works?

i do have an iPhone!

Band mix works I've had several auditions through it. My current band got me through it also. Craig's list also works at least in my area.

When you actually include Tracy Chapman's "Give Me A Reason" in the setlist, it's time to get your band in gear.
