Hey everyone,

Have you had a chance to check out our new American Special Mustang and Jazzmaster models? Of course they come equipped with all of the premium features characteristic of the American Special series, such as comfortable neck profiles, large ’70s headstocks, modern 9.5"-radius fingerboards and jumbo frets. Both also have Adjusto-Matic™ bridges and anchored tailpieces, which provide rock-solid intonation for any performance. But these two new guitars also sport a few other appointments that allow you to escalate your tone to new levels.

The special push/pull pickup selector switch on the American Special Mustang is just one of these features, allowing you to split the two full-throated Atomic humbucking pickups and achieve pure single-coil tone.

The American Special Jazzmaster offers Jazzmaster Special humbucking pickups to fatten up the instrument's tone, along with streamlined circuitry for a stripped-down look and sound.

Check out these great new additions, along with the rest of the American Special series, and let us know what you think. Thanks all!

Doesnt the Jazzmaster seem to have the regular headstock though?

Any plans for an American Special Jaguar?

Or maybe an American Special HSS Startocaster with an Original Floyd Rose?

Discontinued and no longer produced - unless you mean a regular "large peghead" American Special HSS fitted with that bridge.

Yeah just an American Special Humbucker Stratocaster with an Original Floyd Rose.
For now it looks like only answer is a Super-Vee!

Why not purchasing an original Floyd and dropping it into your American Standard/Special hybrid?

Honestly - I don't see the reason to buy another American Special HSS w/ large headstock & Floyd Rose.

Personally I like the Jazzmaster/Mustang pair but I feel bored to not see an American Special Jaguar, Cyclone or Duo-Sonic.

To tell you the truth chromeface I will probably just get a Super-Vee if I do anything.
It was a pain to do the Floyd Mod. Alot of wood cutting and drilling

A Bigsby on that Jazzmaster would be cool.

If you've enough luck you can find a used mini Floyd Rose assembly with LSR nut and locking tuners in an excellent condition on eBay - who cares?

Well the mini Floyd is 2 3/16" 2 post and the American Special is 2 1/8" 6 screw bridge.
It wont match.
Super Vee or a Blade Runner with locking tuners is about the only options.

I have owned all 3 American Stratocaster models the deluxe standard and special. The special is my favorite still even if the bridge needs replaced.

There's an alternative: Gotoh Wilkinson VS100N with Tusq nut and Hipshot Grip-Lock staggered lockers.
