Say what you want, but see if that Mustang will give you flawless performance night after night for 30+ years like my Twin did. That's where the rubber hits the road. Not how many people you play for.

For the price of one Twin amp, I can buy 4 Mustang III's. And I won't have a giant lobster arm on one side from carrying them around.

Actually, you probably could buy four, and my Twin had wheels.
For a little while we used friend as roadies. Wasn't really the best way to go especially when they were drunk.

Seriously, it all depends on your needs and how important tone and reliability are to you. I don't like digital effects at all, but I do like a couple of solid state amps. Can't stand modeling amps. To each his own though. If it works for you, that's great.

wow, how do those wheels do on stairs?

Yep, very happy with my lightweight extremely versatile and 100% reliable amp.

I do get a little bummed about not having the opportunity to drop $100 on new tubes every once in a while.

It's a small price to pay for seriously great tone. Enjoy your amp. I'm glad it works out for you. My gear now has been 100% reliable because I build it myself. Pedal too.

Don't get too caught up in the tube vs ss thing. I have a Marshall 2x12 ss amp and it was louder and with way more overhead tone than the other guitar player's 1x12 tube blackstar amp. Do you like what you hear from your amp? That's what matters.

Neeto, I'm too old to get caught up in that debate.
I like what I like. A friend of mine has a Blackstar, I'm kind of on the fence about it. I like my Egnater, and I do like the old Peavey Trans Tube series amps. I just like what I like. What bothers me about the new solid state amps are how quickly they become landfill. How about a nice old school thick wide traced PCB without all the ribbon connectors and silly over-done digital effects that are marketed for nine year old Malmsteen fans. That would be nice for a change.

I had a GDec that dumped on me after a couple of months after I received it as a gift. Data wheel problems. Fender just tossed it and gave me credit for a new one that I traded for a GDec 30 that I really don't like that much either. Like I said, I'm just picky. I'm not brand loyal either. I play anything and everything.

Kind of like these?

These were built to be a little more 'robust':

... but quickly became obsolete.

It's kind of like that with these digital modeling amps, in a few years I don't care if this one breaks, because I'll just go out and get the new version with more effects, better simulations, etc.

All of it. TV's,DVD Bluray players, laptops, tablets, iPads. My digital camera gear too. Mt 4x5 and medium format camera gear is over 40 years old and works just fine. But I've been through about a dozen digital cameras in roughly ten years or so. It's a serious expense that I sadly pass on to my clients.

wow, I'd suggest a good quality camera case and being a little more careful. My DSLR is rock solid.

Wow, thanks for the advice. I have a studio and shoot commercial product and corporate portrait work for a living. I've been self employed in this business since 1989.
I'll look into a better cases for all my gear.

Glad your DSLR is rock solid.

Been using Nikon for my DSLR stuff. Currently I have a couple of D800's. I use Leaf and Phase One backs for my medium format stuff. The D800's are 36 megapixel full frame. Not good for sports, too slow, but a great studio camera. The Raw files are huge. Something like 119 MB each. I run dual 64 gig cards. Nice looking stuff that gives my medium format gear a run for its money. You need good glass too. No kit lenses or variable aperture. The glass can make or break you. Mine's all Nikon higher end stuff. 70-200 28, 60mm 2.8 micro, 24-124 f4, and a bunch of fast primes. Well worth the investment. The digital stuff drives me nuts with all the upgrades to stay competitive. The software is a killer too. I now pay for all my Adobe software by the month. I run Photoshop CC (Creative Cloud) as well as Illustrator and a handful of other Adobe programs.

that's cool, I prefer Nikon m'self. So when the digital cameras break, what is usually the cause? You put them away one day and then the next day they don't work? Or it's while you're working? I hope that never happens to me, I only have one camera and it's been good for about 3 years. Broke a bayonet mount once, but that's what they're designed to do to save the camera.

They're not broken. Just obsolete in the image quality department. They're worthless on the used market too. You pay $3-4,000 for a camera body and a year or two later it's only worth $600 used and people don't want them. It's a rough business today.
I still have and use my film gear. I have a full lab. Enlargers, processors the works. I process black and white, color print, transparencies, Cyanotype. Mostly for fine art and high end sales. Some people still appreciate a nice silver print.

Five complimentary tubes of Clearasil are included with each purchase.

(offer not valid for those beyond the age of puberty)
