Well I did some physical experiments and I really think orange drops wired 50s in a Les Paul make a huge difference.
PIO is to creamy for rock better suited for blues.
In a stratocaster american standard wiring I couldnt really tell to much change a little but its not worth messing with.
Gibson wired guitars I highly reccomend 50s wiring and orang drops

I don't understand the problem. I paid a buck each for my Orange drops. Shipping cost more than the caps did. I know they are a consistent quality product and don't have to measure their capacitance with an expensive meter that I don't have. They have nice plated copper leads that are easy to solder. If I'm in a guitar for whatever reason I'm going to drop one in there. For a buck it's a no-brainer.

The OP doesn't have a clue, yet is still pompous, maybe believing he actually knows something about electronics. This thread proves he knows squat.

The ONLY requirements for an Internet Engineering degree are:

Internet access - PC, Laptop, Smart Phone, Tablet, etc...

Wikipedia...

and a smidge of 'knowledge'.

Armed with that, one can... defy the Laws of Physics, make the Rivers run backward, or wax laconic on the merits (or lack thereof) of various electronic bits & components.

There is no need for Direct Observation in the Virtual World...

cheers!

+1 Lou, All you have to do is measure the capacitance and see how wide the measurments vary in cheap caps and how far out of spec they can be. Everything has a bearing on tone. And besides, even if I want to spend ten bucks on a cap, it's my money.
