Got tickets for John Mayall and Friends 80th Birthday show with Sonny Landreth at the Iridium Jazz Club in NYC for Oct 4th. Should be a blast. Hopefully I can get to do some photography there. If they allow me to take some photographs, I'll try to post them. I got "Premier" seating.
We'll see. They're not saying which friends will be there, but I'm sure it'll be great.

WOW !!

That's gonna be a KILLER show !

I'm a huge fan of Sonny Landreth... see him at least once a year when we visit NOLA for JazzFest (this year we saw him 3 times - twice solo and once w/ Tab Benoit !).

Also a fan of Walter Trout (who replaced Clapton when he left the BluesBreakers), I'd be really surprised if he didn't make an appearance.

Have FUN... and take LOTS of pics !

cheers!

Sonny actually played at a local "Concert Under The a Stars" two years ago for about a hundred local fans because the weather was bad. He was amazing. The Iridium is a great place. Very small. Keeping my fingers crossed about bringing in professional camera equipment. I'll probably call and see if I can get permission. John has a lot of friend and I'm a huge Mayall fan. Gonna hop a train and spend the weekend and do some photography.

IIRC, you had posted a photo you took of Sonny from that?

You are indeed one lucky man!!!! I saw Sonny at a small club (The Southgate House) a few years back and he's just wonderful. Johnny A was the first performer, odd combination but two of the finest guitarists I've ever seen live and in a club that holds maybe 500. Can't wait to see your report.
