Share a pic of your board here's mine.
This is what I use with my crate v5 the top two are not in use. As of now I don't got enough power supplies, I need to get my hands on a 1 spot. The grunge is actually modified for a smoother natural sound, its really good for leads now. The board was made for random wood found around the house. Sorry for the crappy picture :P

I know there's been plenty of these threads, but since I just finished my first board I'll show it off. It's a Pedal Train 2 with a Pedal Power 2 attached underneath.
Front row goes into the front of the amp:
TU3 - CS3 (Keeley modded) - Mad Professor 1 Distortion - Mad Professor Golden Cello Overdrive - Ibanez TS9 Turbo (Keeley modded) - Amp
Rear row is through the effects loop:
Eventide H9 (every Eventide modulation effect controlled by Ipod Touch) - GE7 EQ - Sonic Stomp - Boosta Grande - return loop.
Image

I know I'm heavy on overdrive and light on distortion. I don't really use much heavy distortion, so the 1 and my amp give me what I need. I get a different overdrive from the Golden Cello than from the TS9 Turbo, so I keep it on the board. The H9 is still new to me, so I'm in the experimental stage trying to find what is usable for me. I'm not going to buy any other modulation pedal unless I find something I can't get from Eventide.

Heres my diy board. Input signal goes to a/b switch(top right), a goes to tuner, b goes to wah to ocd to plimsoul to supa trem to reverb to delay to phasor to ditto to amp. Powered by voodoo labs power plus underneath. I also have a handy diy cable tester to check for faulty cables on the fly, some picks and since my back up vocals are nothing to brag about, a tc elect vocal harmonizer  I also installed a couple of filtered outlets just in case I need power for amps or other things.

What's your reason for putting the tuner off an A/B switch instead of in the path?

Two reasons, my entire signal chain is true bypass so I wanted to keep it that way (The wah and phasor have been modded for t/b). Second, the a/b acts as a mute switch when tuning or when i switch guitars or for quick breaks. :D

The TU3 will mute, but if you don't want a buffer than it's understandable. You've got to keep your cable going to the amp a little on the short side and you're good. I use my effects loop and my board is often 20 feet from my amp, so I don't worry about having some buffered pedals.

Heres mine, I have always wanted to keep it as small as possible, so I made my platform from discarded wood and cut custom holes all over where cables needed to be routed underneath.

Image

All pedals are TRUE BYPASS so I can get my true amp sound mostly (my pedals are infront of my SSTwin and not in effects loop - all sounds way better this way, as I tried effects loop before and some pedals were not sounding too inspiring).

GUITAR - TUNER (PolyTune) - DISTORTION (DarkMatter) - MODULATION (EH DMM) - AMP (SSTwin).

The Deluxe Memory Man has been modded to give me the speed range from Flanger Style Sweep up to Super Fast Pulsating when turning CHORUS/VIB knob. This is more flexible than the factory 2-position rotary switch.

The Marshall Amp footswitch has been modded to control my SSTwin. FSW's are for BURN Channel and BOOST switching, TOGGLES are for REVERB and BASSMAN ON/OFF.

The Power Supply I made myself in a very small box which fits underneath and supplies both 9V and 24V for the pedals.

Would you recommend the Polytune?

It's a great tuner no-doubt, but it's big selling point was being able to check the tunning of all strings simultaneously. I find that feature is not accurate enough and I have basically just used string by string tunning method.
(edit: The new version 2 PolyTune with faster processor may fix this issue).

The display is great, the tunning modes and pitch adjustments are great, D-tune mode is easily switchable, and the selectable needle styles are cool. So as a TUNER I would not hesitate to recommend it. I would look at the POLYTUNE MINI.

It's a very nice distortion, doesn't color the tone of your guitar, gets a good grunge sound. It can't do metal damping riffs too well, but that's not what it's aimed at. I like it.
