1. Log in to the forum

2. Click User Control Panel in the upper-right of the forum window

3. On the left side, click Profile

4. On the left side, click Edit Avatar

5. If you'd like to use a picture hosted on the Internet, copy the URL of the image and paste it into the Link off-site: box

NOTE: The hosted picture must meet the following criteria, or it won't work!:
Maximum dimensions: Width: 150 pixels, Height: 150 pixels
File size: 976562.50 KiB.

6. If you'd like to select from a list of locally available avatars, click Display gallery next to Local gallery:

7. Whichever you choose, click the Submit button when you're done to submit the change

Please give it a shot and let us know if any further issues.

1. Join a picture hosting site (I use http://imageshack.us/ but there are many).

2. Upload your photo

3. Copy the URL for the picture you posted

4. Proceed from step 5 in the instructions above

So, did you upload it okay?

I can't seem to change a lot of things with the user control panel anymore...I guess that's just the way it rolls..

So I followed the steps, but Fender will not recognize my URL. I received the following message:

“The URL you specified is invalid.”

This is the URL I copied and paisted.

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a3ce2 ... /ry%3D400/

I tried two things
1. I copied the URL in the address box
2. I went to the image properties and copied that URL.

What am I doing wrong? It's moments like this when I feel not very computer savey.

What you posted is: 550X400 pixels. You need to squash that down to 150 x 150 pixels

Life will get a lot easier when programmers put a little more thought into their error messages. I hope it didn't make you feel any less valid.

Here, try this one: http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/5029/o4zd.jpg

Just download it first and then upload it to your image hosting site (be sure to select 'do not resize' if necessary). Nice guitar by the way. :D
