Glad you like Johnny Winter he is a favorite guitar player of mine too. I saw him in '74 at the New Victoria Theater London, the second time in '80 when I was bartending at Beginnings Schaumburg,IL., the third time in '89 at The Vic Chicago, and the fourth time in 2011 at Lincoln Park Fest Chicago. Here is a photo from that show, my drummer Frankie Iffland is shaking hands with Johnny the Bro in the foreground is Tommy Ash (Presley) a great blues guitarist I get to jam with now and then, photo taken by Dean Zelinsky (Dean guitars):

this photo is from 2 weeks ago at a gig in Evanston, IL. that is Tommy again in the photo:

I got to meet Dean once, at his Chicago factory a long time ago.

I have two old Dean guitars. They are great heavy metal machines.

This is actually the 2nd time I've seen Johnny live.

Back in the early '80s, my sister and her husband lived in Temple, TX and when I'd visit them, we'd drive the 40 or so minutes up to Austin and hit the clubs (5th, not 6th Street was the Honky-Tonk district back then, not the Tourist Trap that 6th Street has become today... it was gritty and dank, but the Music was incredible).

Anyway, caught Johnny one time at the old Antones club on 5th Street (now defunkt). It was a great show, but packed to the gills. The venue Thurs. nite was much better.

cheers!
