I'm on the road this weekend playing at the Hound Dog Blues Festival in Tulsa! If anyone of you are in the neighborhood, check out Texas 99 while you're there. We play on Sunday afternoon! :)

Also, does anyone know anywhere I can watch the Houston Texans game while in Tulsa? I'm not really a sports person, but I make up for it by obsessing over football.

If you are playing on Sunday afternoon, that means on Saturday afternoon you'll be "24 Hours From Tulsa"-I had to get that in...lol. Anyway go out there and hit 'em with your best shot and dazzle the daylights out of them.Best of luck Rebecca-but of course, who needs luck when you got God given talent???

Well, I didn't see the game (but I'm told that was for the best).

We had quite an adventure, starting with the bass player calling me the night before we left to back out due to a family emergency. So I was left with the task of finding a replacement bassist and finishing four reports all due at midnight on friday night at 9:00. Luckily, I had one friend not only willing to make the trip to Tulsa, but also to learn to play bass in 24 hours. He's a guitarist who has very similar musical tastes, so I could really trust him more to hear the chord changes than I would a bassist who was really good at say, Tool, but not at a I VI V. We practiced the next morning and he actually did very well, although I did have to calm the drummer and singer quite a bit before practice started.

The drive was nice, but we got in a 2:00am because we had a long practice in Houston. The blues festival people were really nice, and we had nice hotel rooms and free meals provided. There weren't a lot of people at the festival (maybe about 100) because there was some other blues event going on in the area, but it was still a lot of fun! And our 24 hour bassist did so well that we didn't end up missing the other guy very much.

After our set, we had to immediately drive back to Houston. I had my first In-N-Out Burger in Dallas at 1:00am, and we got back to Houston exactly an hour before we needed to be at school. I'm terrible at sleeping in the car, so I had to go to school after being awake for over 24 hours. I even had to take a math test after being up for over 30 hours, but I got 100% on it! (I set up a wifi hotspot from my phone on the way back and did all of my online homework on the way to and from Tulsa when I wasn't driving or talking.) I then went into a 16 hour coma.

In short, it was a lot of fun, but very stressful. The bass player who backed out last minute was supposed to drive with our singer, so the singer had to actually book a last minute flight to Tulsa and arrived just in time.
