Well I see the spammers have taken a different approach. I like the little bit of American Football info, but I report them when I can.

Pro football......an endless parade of televised commercial advertising, punctuated periodically by a few moments of athletic endeavor, performed by morons unable to comprehend the terms of their contracts nor grasp the fact that their gravy train lasts for but a few fleeting seasons then they end up as penniless invalids because they couldn't figure out that repeated head injuries turn what little gray matter they once possessed into lime jello.

ive stopped visiting the forum so often over the last few months, because to be honest the spam was totally doing my head in. I don't read it, I don't open it, but to open the forum and be confronted with a page of useless crap just makes me close the browser straight away.

how does a page which is 75% spam look to people wanting to join the forum ? I wouldn't.

if this was a tiny little forum of a local club or something, I could forgive it. but it isn't, this is Fender, the greatest musical instrument company in the universe, but nothing is being done to stop them. and if it is, its obviously about time something different was tried.

Considering the number and variety of the Forums available I don't know that I find the percentages as severe and discouraging as you suggest. Anyone can certainly enjoy the priviledge of nosing around as a guest prior to registering in order to be able to join in on the conversations.

Just google anything+forum and yep...it's there!

Firearms forums, medical forums, autumn forums, jazz forums, homerecording forums, halloween forums, etc...

But not all forums have spam and those that do, have it in varying degrees; this I find interesting.
Another Guitar Forum that I frequent has no spam, for example.
Do spammers have lists of favourite websites, and if so, how do they decide? Traffic? Gullibility? :?
