CS69's nail the Hendrix sound and great for classic rock, IMO.

I would lean to the CS69s too.

This is an interesting question for me. I know the AM Std uses Fat 50's and I've perused the guitar (Strat) listing for a model that uses the Custom 69's but did not see one. Do any current models make use of the Custom 69's?

I have two of them in the neck and middle of my 1960 relic along with a texas special at the bridge and they sound great, they work well with a texas special bridge as it gives you a slightly hotter bridge pick up.

I think that the CS69s only come in custom shop guitars though and I don't know of any american models that they are fitted to.

I have these in my Strat. The Neck pup is a dream. All the stratty goodness I wanted and more. Once I Installed these and hit that thirteenth fret bend on the second solo of ‘Shine On’ I was hooked. I’m not totally gaga about the bridge pup but I’m not totally gaga about my playing either and It could be that I just need to adjust the height. Eventually I’ll be looking to replace the bridge with something like an SSL-5, Jeff Beck SC humbucker type, or Texas Special. But for now it does the job and I’ve had a blast with these.

The CS69s are very nice for classic rock. Many others also agree:
