I've been trying, waiting patiently to pick up a Charvel Pro Mod for the past 6 months. Charvel is owned by Fender, no? Charvel seems to have the worst customer service and message boards in the history of guitars!

I've tried to get some answers as to when they might be available - no response from the Charvel site. I've tried to join their message boards to see what's up - can't even register! I registered here in 2 minutes.

Is Fender not even caring about Charvel anymore? I'm at the end of my rope. I want an 80's hair machine axe and am thinking about looking at a Strat with a Floyd Rose instead now. I love the Charvel look and colors - its based on a Strat, no?

You'd think that for almost $900 a guitar, Charvel would care even a little about customers like me that are doing so much to obtain their products.

argh!

The Music Zoo has some of the new Charvels listed on their website. Pictures too.

I just put one of these on layaway at my local guitar shop. My dealer has been waiting for these to come in too. I was told each dealer got one. I was also told that the one I put on layaway is a prototype. Mine is the red burst with flame top. Everone that plays one wants to buy it. I think Charvel was not expecting the demand for this guitar. I hope the demand for this guitar does not push production over seas.

I like this fancy way of saying that they are made in Mexico.

Quote:
“The new Pro-Mod series is the flagship of the Charvel line,” said Michael McGregor, product manager for Charvel Guitars. “Manufacturing each guitar in our own state-of-the-art North American factory ensures we have complete control over the fit and finish of every Pro-Mod that comes off the line.”

 That's interesting, I would have thought that Mexico would have been classed as Central America.. There are a couple MIJ Charvel Pro Mod at my local I'm really gassing over.. Could see a NGD very soon..

Hey Blertles, I suspect Orville was responding humorously to the previous post.

I admit I've never paid much attention to Charvel but since taking a tour of their website when this thread started I'm seeing some interesting looking guitars. Not bad, if a guy wanted a metal version of a Fender.

Cheers - C

Mexico is part of North America. Central America is the countries south of Mexico - Belize, Nicaragua, etc. OrvilleOwner is right - "North America" is code for "Ensenada, Baja California Norte, Mexico".

To be fair, on an unlabeled map I wouldn't know Wales from Scotland, and I only have a vague idea that New Zealand is somewhere near Australia.

So where is the OP? I wonder if he has finally found the Charvel of his dreams.
