They're still 3-piecing it for these critters. It's a rough task, and they don't always quite get it balanced. Nor do I feel that they really take the time. The juice isn't worth the squeeze for them. As I said earlier, one really has to shop around for these.

One of our guys has a DIY project in progress using a single piece. I'm looking forward to its completion.

Now that I think about it, I was told that folks went crazy to spend time there.

They certainly used to. Do an image search for "1983 sienna sunburst" and see the guitars and basses that originally inspired me.

Perhap you can re-inspire FMIC...and so it won't cost a player $6200 US for a 'cool' looking bass. A Jaguar Bass in that finish would look fantastic.

Let's face facts here, an old kipper crate in that finish would look fantastic.

Maybe it's time for a new Pawn Shop model? I'd like to see a 12-string Telecaster in Sienna Sunburst. I'd like that very much.

I don't choose a guitar based on finish, but give me a choice of two Fenders-otherwise equal-one in Sienna Sunburst, and the other not-and I'll pick the Sienna Sunburst.
Burgundy Mist would be my second pick.

I'm enjoying this thread.

Here's mine. No doubt my favorite burst by Fender. The trem is nearly decked - not floating - I call it slightly submerged. Bridge and Middle tone wired. She's got a Cray neck and pups and I'm taking suggestions on a name for her - so suggest away!

Did I mention that every single Sienna Sunburst Strat is gorgeous?

FWIW if anyone tries to tell you that an Ash Strat is not superior to Alder or Basswood - they are nuts. All 3 have their places and one of the best sounding Strats I ever had was a Japanese Squier basswood body w vintage noiseless pups - believe it or not. Regardless, for you purists out there, the early Strats were all Ash and I believe Alder was introduced as a cost and weight saving measure.

For my money and my ear preference, a good piece of Ash will beat a good piece of Alder any day.

Since this is a Sienna thread I just might get away with those comments. At any rate I'm fireproof so flame away if you must......
