Google Marc Wallace...indie bass player, awesome, unsigned. He has a demo out too. Jersey kid, really talented. He has a song on his disc - Pagannini's 5th Caprice on bass.

I agree with the person who said Steve Harris, he is after all the guy that made me pick up the bass. The guy from Level 42, I can't recall his name at the moment, he was a good bass player too.

I don't usually participate in who's best posts but it seems a good one was overlooked; in Stu Cook from Creedence Clearwater Rivival' That music wasn't exactly rythimic from the basss player's point of view. Give "Born on the bayou" a listen.
