Our Forum mate is going to undergo surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome this morning, so guitar #32's gonna have to wait a while to be treated properly. Speedy recovery, mate.

Yes, Best of luck for the surgery.

Which hand/wrist?

I am reminded of a one-handed guitarist I used to see. IIRC, the hard rock band was called Pin Ups (or was it Punch?) and they were out of Chicago. He used to clip a pick into his prosthetic and just go to town. Do any other (of the older) Midwest forum members remember this guy?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I really hope this goes well for you Derek. I know the thought of that 32nd guitar that needs playing will help speed your recovery.

Thanks very much Doc for starting this thread and thanks guys for all the well wishes, the surgery only took about 10 minutes and the worst part of it was the needle for the local anesthetic. The longest part of the surgical procedure was in fact the suturing of the incision which took 10 minutes too.The only downside of the day was losing my new baseball cap that I just had received in the mail after getting specially printed up, it was a white cap with the word "guitarded" printed on it in stylized script and a stylized guitar logo.If I ever see anyone with it,I'll certainly know where they got it.

Guitslinger... take care of those hands my friend.I went through Carpal Tunnel surgery on both of my hands.I have something that will help you with rehab on that hand.I will send you a pm if you are interested.Did they allow you to be awake and watch the surgery? Did you have an open release or did they do an endoscopic release? They put me under when they did it.I only had a small incision on the wrist.Do not overdo it right now.Just relax and let it heal.Best wishes
