This afternoon I had some time to wile away and went to my local mom and pop store, Reid Music, to have a look around. While looking through the guitars my eyes lit on a beautiful Ibanez Artcore AFS 75 T in a beautiful blueburst with Seymour Duncan pickups. I got an unbelievable deal on her and immediately paid 1/3 down on her and won't be able to come up with the rest fast enough to suit me.I'll post pix the minute that I get her home.

BTW: The deal on the 1968 Gibson B-25-12 fell through so I had to get something to satisfy my gas.I also asked about the new Squier Jaguar Bass with the Jazz and P-Bass pickups and they gave me a great price on a new one whenever I say the word,so that's the next baby on my list.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

That's not that bad. I knew somebody who had over 200 and the dude could barely even play. When you start getting into the triple digits or more, then it gets into serious addiction territory. :P

Thanks guys-BMW-KTM-my missus is the absolute best, she has given me several guitars now and surprised the excrement out of me with a beautiful Tele one Christmas.I had only mentioned it once a couple of months before Christmas saying that it was probably the prettiest Tele I had ever seen (Midnight Wine with maple neck)knowing that I had listed the Tele as on of my favourite things way back in my high school yearbook, she went into to Reid Music the very next day and paid a deposit on it.

Blinkers,I'll give you a shout the minute I get her home.

Good deal on #32 - - those set-in necks are nice!

This morning while thinking about the surgery tomorrow I decided that the Ibanez would cheer me up,so I drove out to town and paid her off and took her home-she's absolutely spectacular. The transparent blue is an incredible shade and the beautifully grained maple shows through as clear as you'll ever see.I went on the Ibanez forums last night and found that Duncans aren't available on Ibanez guitars as a factory option and must've been put in by the previous owner.I would've liked it if he had included the stock pickups when he traded her in so that I could opt for the stock pickups.Ibanez endorsees such as George Benson get fabulous tone from the standard pickups anyway so maybe the Duncans weren't a necessary option.I can't wait now to get the coinage saved up to get that lovely Jaguar Bass because it's a great guitar and with the P-Bass and Jazz Bass pickups and all the switching options,it is probably one of the most versatile basses on the market today and certainly would have a wide tonal range. With the Jazz Bass neck it will also be just right for my smallish mitts too.

I've watched a few demos of that Jaguar Bass and it seems like an instrument of interest to me (well along with probably 50 other ones. :P) I was leaning towards a Jazz Bass, but then they've come out with that Squier fretless P-Bass, which might be a game changer. I've wanted a fretless P-Bass for years and that looks like it would fit the bill. Then again, it's not like these costs thousands of dollars so it doesn't mean I couldn't eventually have both. Of course, after both...

Congrats on the Artcore. I have a couple Artcore models myself and they are indeed beautiful guitars.

I have 70 guitars (nothing new in 9 months now) at last count, so keep plugging away.

It's not an addiction. I can quit any time I want.

Happy 32nd !!

I just checked my guitar inventory list (maybe I'm overly organized) and it says I haven't bought a guitar since 2007!! I knew it had been awhile, but six years . . .

I did buy two amps and 17 pedals in that time, though. Still need the 12-string and the baritone.
