Just curious, the CS Geddy bass employs a 35" scale.

The Geddy Lee Custom Shop Jazz Bass has been available on the Street since September 2013 ..... Street price around $5800.

Does that mean they were available to order from then or is that when Fender actually started shipping them?
My understanding was that they had sold out instantly, which is fair enough as it's a limited run of 50, but if they were shipped from September 2013, it's odd that I can't seem to find any trace of anyone who has actually got their hands on one. It would be all over this forum wouldn't it and You Tube. Thomann in Germany show them as being in stock as of Jan 20th 2014, which indicates that they aren't sold out as suggested.

Very confusing!

I'm going to stay with the Am. Std.'s. That's a bit high for a Road Worn by any other name.

I agree they are pricey, but I would be surprised if at least one forum member hasn't got their name attached to one. Anyone?

The Geddy Shop Jazz Bass was sold at these locations:
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/JBassGeddy72
http://www.musoscorner.com.au/site/inde ... storepid=1
http://www.skinnymusic.com/fender-custo ... additions/
& is no longer available at Musicians Friend .....if you want one go down to your local music store & inquire if they're available or sold out,....thats how I buy Basses that I don't see in my local store,..... Fender is pretty quick (most of the time) I ordered a Reggie Hamilton Jazz bass, ....I was expecting an 8 week wait & it arrived in 4 weeks.

I'm sure Fender are pretty quick on your side of the Atlantic, but it's like pulling teeth here getting any information in the UK. I have ordered a GLJ, but I'm just trying to find out when it will be available as no-one seems to know. Interestingly, your link for Muso's Corner indicates availability from December 2013, which is promising. Funny that by they have cut and pasted the blurb from the Sweetwater site including the reference to the Sweetwater dealership!

Again, I wouldn't disagree, but it doesn't answer the question.
Does anyone affiliated with Fender post on this Forum?
Someone in the UK suggested these the release for these signature basses might be being held back to coincide with Namm '14 at the end of January.

It's been a couple of months now, so does anyone have a Geddy CS, or know anyone that has?

The Hurley is a really nice bass. Not sure it's 6k nice, but it's pretty sweet. Though I'd think you could scoop up an old AVS 62RI and mount a mute on it and be pretty close. I just wish they'd make an American made vintage single coil Precision outside the CS. How many American early 60's models are there now? The Pino (63), The AVS 63RI, The Hurley (61), and The CS 64. (Not to mention 30 years of the previous AVS 62RIs)

Yet if you want a first generation Precision your choices are Squier, an import Fender or the Custom Shop? 500, 1k or 5k? That's a pretty huge gap. Both in terms of quality and price.
