Hey everyone,

Have you seen the new Fender Mike Dirnt Road Worn Precision Bass and Squier Mike Dirnt Precision Bass? The Green Day alum has rolled out a pair of cool new axes for 2013 and flanked them with some vintage-inspired features, including the headstocks, body shapes and pickguards.

The Fender Precision Bass sports original 1951 Precision-era styling and includes a comfortable forearm contour, a custom vintage-style '59 split single-coil pickup and side-mounted output jack. The super-punchy Squier basses also come equipped with split single-coil pickups and, of course, Dirnt's signature star graphic at the neck plate.

What do you think? Let us know your thoughts.

Hate, and I mean absolutely HATE those fugly pickguards. I guess there is a CNC hole under them just like the Cabronita. I'd do like Sting and throw them away. He's got good taste.

they're beautiful! they remind me of my Fender Telecaster bass that I bought new in 1968 for $300. and change with hard case and case candy, lol. I've wanted to replace that bass guitar ever since I sold it in 1991: Image
I'll probably have to call the Fender custom shop if I want one just like it though.

The road worn white with rosewood fingerboard looks especially fetching! I had heard that the earlier Dirnt signatures had something of a chunky neck, and I wonder if this neck might be a little slimmed down?

One of his signature basses (a black model with a tort guard and rosewood neck) came with a red cross under the bridge; the other sports an antigua burst finish with a matching-colored scratchplate.

Unfortunately these basses are not available.

I like the vintage look of these. I'm not a buyer as I prefer vintage pieces, and not really fond of signature editions, but it has a bit of that early mojo going for it. Cool.
