Good to see your post Texas! Looks like you've got school/work handled, your schedule sounds brutal but you are taking care of business and that pays off big time. Have fun with your guitar lessons, a credited perk that I took advantage of in college as well.

+1. Times certainly have changed. All that was offered 50+ years ago was piano.

I still have to take Piano, I just didn't have time for it this semester. I could really use it too, it's hard writing four part harmonies that you can't hear. I have to bring my projects to work and make the piano teachers play them on their breaks in exchange for coffee.

Also, ironically, I'm doing very well in math. I think that has a lot to do with music. I started playing violin when I was 7, switched to flute when I was 9, and switched to guitar when I was 13. So I actually don't remember not knowing about fractions, whole notes, half notes, time signatures etc. In fact, I'm having a little trouble teaching things like that to my students because I remember what it's like to not know how many quarters make a whole.

Hi Texas, good to see your post. You're very busy. Like my great nephew, he has taken a full time job with Mighty Electric. He and his boss Eddie are working sun up to sun down then he does side jobs and gigging weekends. Have fun with piano. Try to make time for rest and eating, nutrition is important.

Well, my one lucky break is that I still don't have to cook or do laundry. One of the advantages of staying home for college is that you still get to enjoy quality food courtesy of Mom.

Although now I totally get why some people knock back two or more cups of coffee a day. I've been guilty of that myself lately. I also get how my Dad could just take random naps whenever he wanted to back when he worked more than one job. I've gotten good at forcing myself to get some sleep whenever I can. Unfortunately today my nap was actually longer than I slept last night. Speaking of which, I think it's time I call it quits for today. I have yet another busy day tomorrow!

There's a lot of music in you, from your history. It explains many things. We're all in your corner.
