I don't think so, looks like a CS logo on the back of the headstock there.

That's freakin sweet, Frank. I checked out a couple of models that came stock with the tummy cut, but didn't dig them. If I get that guitar fetish body I'll probably try that out on it first. :)

Chromeface once posted a line of T-type guitars in which the lower horn was shaped like that of a Strat. I liked it better. Sorry I can't share it.

I can understand why it takes some players a long time to come to appreciate the simple beauty of the Telecaster. In the hands of a good player a Tele can sing and scream and grunt and growl like no other guitar but that bridge pickup can be unforgiving. There's nowhere to hide on a Telecaster.

Amen to that! There is a certain "historical tone" that only a telecaster can produce. But its bridge pickup has to be treated with respect. A little too much high end, and that bridge pickup will peel the paint off the walls!

The Eldred Circuit in the Esquire is a hammer. Gives the guitar a different vibe. Something to consider in a T-type guitar.

I love my MIM Special Tele, which I modded quite a bit electronically--

It originally had a coil-tapped humbucker in the neck position, and a 5-way switch to accommodate all the different pickup configurations. I never liked the humbucker's tone, so I first turned it into an Esquire (removed neck pickup, three way switch, replaced pickguard with a blank one), but after playing that way for a year or so, I added a P-90 to the neck position, put in 4-way Tele switching and a Fender "No-Load" tone pot...and I found "my" sound.

The thing that made me love the axe so much was the feel--vintage-but-modern, heavy-but-balanced, just right...

Congrats for joining the Tele Lovers Guild...it's a wonderful group. 8)

I used to be a die hard Strat man, until a couple months ago when I went into the store to buy a strat. I picked up a Tele just to try and as soon as I played the first chord I knew it was coming home with me.

I don't know what it is but the Tele just seems to make the noise I expect a proper guitar to make, whatever I need to play it just sounds right. I love the versatility of the pickups in the strat and I do miss the strat neck pickup at times but the Tele now for me is just something else.

There's just something about how basic the design of it is too, it's like it's just begging you to play the thing properly.

well said, joe. that's exactly what I thought when I picked that thing up....I got an official offer from Sam Ash to buy my eastwood, for just under 400. I only have 500 in it, and the tele will be about 450 tax and all after the 10% deal they're running now. I'm putting some of my artwork online, if I can make up the difference in the next few days it's a done deal.

These guitars are built by boutique luthiers Gerry Melancon and Don Grosh, they're extremely expensive.

I totally agree, the lower cutaway is sleeker and sharper than the traditional Tele shape. Bodies are slimmed down and downsized.

Thanks again...I'll have to save that for my bucket list. I wish Fender would do a version of that. They seem to be doing every other kind of variation these days.

I got the-Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster® FMT HH-With the "Amber" finish in May of 2012. Ever since then, I could not set the Tele® down. The Seymour-Duncan Pickups sound great, and with the pickup selector they can either be single coil, or hum-bucker pickups. I can assure you that you will love your Tele®, and you will eventually get used to the "boxy feeling". :D

They don't.

Those sleek Tele copies are credited exclusively to Gerry Melancon and Don Grosh. Therefore Fender is not authorized to "copy" their designs.

Do they have that silhouette trademarked? If not...it's public domain.
See..here's the kicker...that guitar would look better with a Suhr headstock, and I'd also want a vintage hardtail bridge and a Clapton neck carve. So the question is..how does one put something like that together?? :? Answer: Have the guy who builds guitars for ZZTop do it. He copies everything. Or maybe the late Ed Roman's outfit. I'm sure there are luthiers out there who will serve.

There are three types of Suhr headstocks: one is the classic "chicken beak" and the two others are the so-called "ML" (named after Michael Landau) and a "hybrid" combining the classic beak design with the ML-style head.

There are rumours saying John stole the "beak" design from Kramer.
