What happened? Regardless of what happened, I know it is causing some big adjustments. Peace be to you! Thanks to your GF for doing the typing. Tell Stratlad we send him all the best wishes too!

I certainly feel for you Mike and hope that this just a temporary condition. One of my best buddies who is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and operates his own recording studio, lost his sight at age 12 due to a hereditary disorder.Coping with blindness is an incredible adjustment to face. When my buddy began to lose his sight his parents got him registered and enrolled in CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) right away. The CNIB not only helped him cope with the physical problems of sight loss but the also gave a large amount of attention to the psychological aspects of sight loss as it's such a profound change in one's life that many people experience tremendous depression and actually go through a "grieving" process much like they would after losing a loved one and this is common because they have in fact had a great loss.

I don't know the nature of your sight loss and whether or not it's temporary, but whatever the duration of it is,it would be a great help and learning experience if you went to your local organization for the visually impaired and got some instruction and counselling. They are well used to seeing people in your situation and you'll be speaking to people who have gone through or are going through the same things that you are. Good Luck and God Bless.
