Sad story! I just found out that my uncle who was 87 yrs. old took his 1955 Les Paul to a dealer to see what it was worth and ended up selling it for 1,000.00 and a Epi Les Paul. My cousin tried to get it back but no go. They took advantage of a 87 year old man, I wish I knew about this when it happened last year just a few months before he passes away. This guitar was mint!

She also told me he lost a lot of money selling several of his WWII firearms. Unscrupulous dam people in the world watch your elderly family members please don't let this happen to them.

She said they tried authorities and where told it was a case of seller beware, no the value of what you sell before doing so. Just like buyer beware no what you get before paying the price. He agreed to the deal and sold it. Even sold two Colt Revolvers that were over 120 years old one of which was fully engraved. Way below value! My Aunt said when he got something in his head to do there was no stoping him. She knew no better and now she has turn 87 and not sure the value of what all is still there and my cousin now controls it thank goodness.

John, my condolences for your Uncles misfortune. I am hopeful you will forget about it in time. If not pm me and maybe I can settle up with the perps for you Chicago style, I've been bored lately so some real action might be just what the doctor ordered.

Yeah it's about time some businessman paid this other businessman a visit and make a deal, purely business, say $1000.1 everybody wins, everybody bar the shop full of the other other businessmen who made the journey with you, I'm sure if you had a word with them as reasonable men they would write off their expenses, I'm sure this other businessman made an honest mistake

CV: It appears that you never had the opportunity to advise your uncle as to the true current value of either that vintage guitar or his guns. :?

Doc, I never thought he would sell any of these items and we did not live close to each other so we only seen each other 3 - 4 times a year.. The only reason I found out was I inquired at a family reunion about possibly buying some firearms from my Aunt and Cousin that he had owned.

When young we seen them a few times a month back when my Mom and Dad were alive. Many memories of his Guitars and large Arms collection. Cousin said there are still a few 60's Fenders and some various early acoustics but they have not decided what they are going to do with any Firearms or Guitars/ Amps.

I'd say a visit to the dealer was in order. Try out some of their fine instruments and give each of them the good old "Bic Test!"

I figure I could wreck 8 or 9 before they figured out what I was up to and they'd never know what happened. What goes around, comes around.
