I've been trying to post a thread to the Stratocaster forum for about an hour and every time I hit "preview" or "submit" I get an error msg along the lines of "Sorry, we're experiencing technical difficulties..."
I see others have posted in this timeframe, so I'm confused as to why my thread won't post.

Are there limits to outside links or img links that can be in a thread that would trip the error message? I do have a couple of outside links and a number of img links in the thread, so...

Thanks! :)

(I didn't really want this to be my first thread on the board...oh well)

Quite possibly since your message above posted okay.

It doesn't suck like every other image host.

Thanks for the tips...nothing's working so far, though. I've gone so far as to remove all links from the post (it's just text now), and also using a different browser and it still won't go through.

@Miami Mike - tried both clearing the browser cache, using your link
@Buxom - the image links are all imgur

Thanks for the info.

Wow, how frustrating! I've finally managed to get a partial posting in that forum. I tried to add a second post with the rest of the info, but got the error again...I guess I'll just need to keep trying. :)

The error message that you are receiving contains a link to report the error to Fender (Brad, the head IT honcho). It will open an e-mail where you can tell Brad what you were doing when the error occurred. Happens to me on occasion. The IT guys will then fix the problem in short order.

I've had that problem. I now copy the text after I type it but before I hit Submit. That way if it hiccups and fails, I can try again by just pasting in the almost lost text.

+1

Especially useful if the typed text contains detailed-and-extensive data regarding maintenance and servicing procedures for amps.

Thanks for the welcomes and advice...I'm still struggling with that thread, but I have sent an email to the address in the error msg and hopefully we'll get it squared away. :)

And yes, ctrl+a, ctrl+c before hitting "reply" is a requirement when drafting any long thread response! :D

It happens to me all the time too and with all respect to the previous poster's comments I do not believe it has anything to do with browser cache or links to pics or anything like that at all. I'm not entirely certain what the issue is but here is what I have begun doing. It seems to work for me.

I see the "Sorry, difficulty" message, I click back arrow to go back to my posting dialogue box with my comment still intact (for some reason), I highlight the comment in the box, copy it to Notepad or Word, cancel the draft, browse around the Fender site for a minute and then try it again by copying and pasting the comment. Sometimes it take 3 to 4 minutes. One time it took more than 10 minutes. Usually it only takes about a minute and then whatever conflict was going on between my ISP server and the Fender server sorts itself out (if that's what was really the issue) and I go ahead and put up the post just the way I wanted it in the first place. In other words I just try again until it works and it's never failed to work eventually without purging cache or limiting my pics.

I've never had a problem with imgur on any forum.
