I wanted to see what band people thought ws the greatest band. Im basing all of this off of popularity and albums sold and how big the are(or where). this isn't my favorite band, my favorite would probably be Thin Lizzy. but anyway, besides that. I would say the greatest band is Led Zeppelin. just tell me yours. please dont tell me that my opinions may be wrong.

There's plenty of answers in the "your favorite band" thread halfway down the page.

I would have to say the Grateful Dead. They were billed as America's favorite garage band. For over 30 years, (with the exception of Jerry's short diabetic coma in 1986), they never stopped touring and every one of their concerts were sold out.

I would have to say the Rolling Stones. The sheer length of their success as well as their influence on music.

I too am a big Thin Lizzy fan!

I liked the Brady Bunch's "Silver Platters" band. Can't beat a hippy-chick Marcia Brady...

Not bashing anyone's opinion but there were some bands mentioned that in my opinion are overrated one in particular that I saw in Atlanta at the old Omni back in '76. I enjoyed the show but I wasn't blown away. With that said two band are my favorite-Grand Funk Railroad that I saw in 1973 and Uriah Heep which I haven't had the pleasure of seeing live.
