Tonight is the night that the Perseid Meteor Shower is at its most dramatic and active. I was lucky enough to watch it once while in Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland Canada. The park is on the province's Great Northern Peninsula and the Nothern Lights added to the spellbinding meteor shower. The lights were so intense, pulsating and changing colour, that they looked like they were hallucinations. So if you live in a city take a little drive out to the countryside so that you can get a good look at the shower.

I usually go outside and watch for the Perseids and I'm disappointed almost every year. One time though, on the long drive home from a gig way out in the sticks (Kirkby Stephen) and when we stopped the band van out in the country lanes for a smoke and toilet break we were treated to a clear starry sky and the most spectacular display of meteorites I've ever seen.

Those Perseids eh? You wait ten years for one then a hundred come at once.

deja-vu, just watched "28 days later" and thought of the search for sanctuary in "Day of the Triffids".
