Got to add this one, just because it's a great chorus ...

Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bad Moon Rising - oh yes
Was just hammering on that one last week :D
"Louie Louie" has to be the all-time best example;
"Maggie May" was the first song I ever learned to play and sing at the same time so you know it had to be super easy;
In the same vein, the Faces "Ooh La La" is a great song, only two chords;
"Down By The River", or most Neil Young tunes!

Hate to be a party pooper, but Down by the River has more than 3 chords

I'd like to compile a list of good loud three chord strum-along classics

Well, it's three chords--open chords will work, and it's fun to play and easy words to remember--although it does break your rule about guitar solos.

You could play it on acoustic (I have) but if you want to jam--it's a great jam song.

A couple I've been playing lately fit right nicely:

Wreck of the Ol' 97 - Vernhon Dalhart, Hank Snow, et al.
You Shook Me All Night - AC/DC (and probably a lot of other of their stuff as well)
Folsom Prison Blues - Johnny Cash

Cheers!

And your point is, Mike? :lol:

Blues/Rock defined: three chords, twelve bars, and a six-pack.
