When I got my reddish burgundy Les Paul I had a small gold nameplate made up for her with "Lucy" engraved on it,in honor of the George Harrison/Eric Clapton "Lucy" Les Paul played on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and The Concert For Bangladesh. I call my flipped black lefty Strat "Jimi" for obvious reasons,my '65 Strat is simply called "The Baby" and my '66 Gretsch Tennessean is called George for obvious reasons also. They are the only few of my 31 guitars that I have named.

Nope.

I simply refer to them by their color, year made, or model.

I've only named 3 out of my herd
My CAR Am Std is called Candy
My Lite Ash is called Honey
My burled top Ovation is called Burle
My black Gilmour partscaster I built I refer to as the black one, the rest I refer to by the description, ie: the 50's classic, or the 60's CP, or the roadhouse strat.

Two of my basses are named.

Squier Musicmaster is Grumpy.

Fender Musicmaster is Rainbow.

The names are obvious if you seen the paint jobs.

My bass is a Red Head, so I named her Reba.

I only have one with a name and it came that way when I bought it. I still don't call it by name though, I just yell HEY YOU!

I'm lousy with names so I decided it would be in my best interest not to put proper names on them....I just settle for the custom or the strat.

My American Standard HSS Sienna Sunburst is named April Anne after the daughter of an amazing woman I spent some time with.

I also have a white Roadhouse Strat that is currently nameless.

Hmmmm....A female name for a guitar equals: old and creepy, a male name for a guitar equals: young and jealous or old and creepy as well! :|

All of mine get names eventually.

My '50s 2TSB Classic Series Strat......"Buddy"

My '65 LPB Premium Re-issue Strat with bound neck and gold bling......"The Surf Ninja"

My '56 hardtail Strat clone in white snowburst over swamp ash......"Mary Kay"

My '63 CAR Strat clone......"Candace"

My '50s Surf Green Classic Series Strat......."The Big Kahuna"

My 12-string Strat in LPB......"Mr. Jangles"

You get the idea -- with 14 guitars, it's the only way I can tell which case they belong in when it's time to take them out for a date.
