Anniversaries seem to cause us to reflect on what we have experienced through the years. Brings back forgotten memories.....past gigs, people we played with, guitars & gear we onced owned, musical influnces, etc...
This forum is great for sharing information on guitars and other gear. It's been real helpful to me, but I for one, also like sharing and reading about others and what they have personally experienced. People's stories gives a little insight and helps me know/understand them a little better, or at least as well as you can over the internet.
JMHO, but I think this thread has just progressed naturally.

But to get back on track to the OP's original subject.....

Happy 25th Anniversary On Bass CPL!

It's really funny how many different events that can have an impact on your life, or things that others have gone through can remind you of something else. For example: I never realised how much country music had an impact on me growing up until I got much older, especially as a musician, since I've never played it or I don't think I've ever written anything that sounds like it. Yet, seeing that picture of your band reminds me of lot of the music events from my childhood and I imagine that had an impact down the road. I do like dark and/or depressing music music, which a lot of country music is, or at least was. Plus, the melodies and catchy hooks.

I think it's cool when people mention stuff that I never even heard of, like that Coral 1000 watt amp or even that Panasonic amplifier. I'll admit I have a fascination with stuff like that. It's kind of like a history lesson of music gear. What came and went before and what happened with it and/or why. People start off by almost primitive means using what they have to work with and it develops from there. Sometimes good, sometimes not so much. Just think of what the Beatles did with just a 4-track recorder, when you have the recording technology of today with seemingly endless tracks and other things. I wonder what they would have done with the technology of today back then? Would it have the same impact, more so, or a total disaster, considering how a lot of today's pop music (at least in my opinion) seems to be just a manufactured, carbon copy of everyone other image out there to sell advertisements. Sometimes I watch Fuse to see whats new in the Top 40 or whatever it is and I swear it all seems the same to me. Maybe I'm just an old fart, but it's all the same beat with the same image and production over and over again. It's like one long Axe body wash commercial being played in loops with robot vocals going "yeah uh huh" every few seconds. I imagine them all on some assembly line, just push a button and there they are for the next month or so until the next one comes along.

Yes they are: http://www.ekoguitars.it/ They have that violin bass, and that pointy rocket-shaped one. They use to have other models, but it looks like they cut down on what they offer now.

Here's another site in case anyone is interested with Eko and the other brands associated with that era. It's full of all kinds of goodies. http://www.fetishguitars.com/

Eko also did a few Artist Series knock-offs, if my memory serves.

When did these come about?
