Howdy all... not sure how many of you live in the pacific smokewest (or interior west... I know you're burning up too) but it's finally Oregon's turn. A recent lightning storm sparked numerous fires in southwestern Oregon and we're living in a haze of smoke, and likely will be until september.

I'm working on a smoky, psychedelic blues jam I'll try to get posted to observe the commencement of fire season. It's nothing to celebrate but at least the firefighters will have work. A huge thanks to the men and women out there working to contain the fires... stay safe.

Here's a cool link for anybody interested in the fires... http://www.inciweb.org

Yes, here in the foothills of Northern CA, and i'm sure down in the valley, it is very smokey. Keeps messing with my allergies. I too pray and hope these fires be put out soon and that all in the way stay safe!

You're not alone, Greece is also victim of the wildfires with Rhodes, Serifos and Crete being heavily affected.

Just up the Golden Chain in Grass Valley, we've been getting smoke from the Oregon fires and a fire in the central Sierras south of Yosemite. Better today than yesterday at least, hopefully they are getting a handle on it.

Here's one for fire season - the Dead's Fire on the Mountain.

Things are not likely to improve... we're expected to get another round of dry lightning over the next 48 hrs which is the last thing we need. As far as progress on the fires, there has been very little... it's going to be a smoky close to the summer I'm afraid.

+1

We've had our share of conflagrations here in Arizona as well. Nineteen firefighters from a hot-shot crew were killed a couple of weeks ago near Wickenburg -- it took an emotional toll on the entire state.
