I'm so glad to see a remake of the "L Series" Strats with the '65 model. My first Strat was a '65 and ever since then and after buying 5 more Strats, the '65 is the one that I regard as the benchmark that I end up comparing all the others to.The '65 Strats had the clearest example of the famous Strat "quack" and "sparkle" and the "L" series really outshone the other Strats when it came to the between pickups "out of phase" tone and that was made clear on some of the songs from Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced" and "Axis Bold As Love" albums where he used a really clean tone.

After playing a '65 Strat for over 40 years I know full well how great they sound and feel, and to my ears and hands the '62 - '65 Strats were the crème de la crème and it's great that Fender has brought them back so that younger guitarists can experience the sweet tones and great playability of these great guitars.

That's because your first Strat wasn't a ''57,58 ....and you were spoiled by a 5 position selector switch and a rosewood board.

Quack, Quack:wink:
