No vote for me - I like all of those listed before the Black album. Kill 'Em All is definitely great but Master of Puppets is monolithic.

I agree that fading into obscurity is the worst way for bands to go. One must suspect that the fires of creation grow dim after long years of writing (?).

BTW, 'Master of Muppets' LOL - is this where Kermit does Hammet and Animal does Ulrich?

...And Justice For All I thought was the best album. Had a lot of songs in there that I liked. And now that I've said that I'm probably gonna get flamed because it has "One" on there and that was on Guitar Hero. Man that game turns songs into somethin' old lemme tell ya. :|

Eh, I don't listen to metallica very often. I know a fair amount of songs, but not enough to tell you which album is my favorite.

My faves in this order:

1. Master of Puppets
2. Ride The Lightning
3. Kill 'Em All
4. And Justice For All

Those 4 albums are some of the best metal ever! All of their other albums stink...

That is a hard thing to do. My metallica anthem was Whiskey in the Jar off of the garage inc. album, but the first two songs i learned to play by them were fade to black and the call of ktulu off of the Ride thew Lightning album, but there best is still ...and justice for all
