Australia.

We have no culture.

All forms of art are dead.

Just kidding, I #$@*&!% love the music and art scene melbourne has to offer. I just love the melbournian culture in general.

But sadly, I don't live there. I live in a $@!&#* little rural city, some hours away from there. I do visit it quite often though.

South Africa in a city called Durban, where in fact we have far too diverse a culture and the music and art scene is rapidly dying.

I am from the great music state of Mississippi,home of the blues! As a matter of fact, I live on hwy 49. I love the blues,and that's what I play mostly. If you've never been to the Delta and/or Memphis, you should make the trip. Also,Peavy and Budda amps are made here in Meridian which is about an hour from where I live. Cheers!

Auckland, New Zealand. Lots of native & diverse culture, Auckland is a cultural melting pot with people from all walks of life. Very proud to be part of it.

Music in Nz is unique, yet can sometimes be over-manufactured and talentless. Very copycat type of music.

I'm from New York.

When I think of my home, I think of riding the trains, Long Island Rail Road and Metro North, subways.

I think of the street vendors and performers in Manhattan.

The great concert venues, especially Jones Beach where you can enjoy a concert outdoors with the boats anchored in Zachs Bay as the backdrop.

Mr Crispy's in Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station.
Washington Square Park.
Long Island beaches.

And my favorite band:

I live in Northern Ireland, where grown men are often praised for not wrecking the place, and every issue is a divisive issue. Our culture mostly consists of provoking one another.

Our biggest musical export at the moment is probably Snow Patrol, make of that what you will, but there is a pretty wide variety of music being made here.

Simon McBride is a blues guitarist;

ASIWYFA make post-rock, if you're into post-rock;

We have some punks;

And some... ehhh...

There are also some notable guitar makers based here, like Lowden and Avalon who make guitars for Eric Clapton and Carl Verheyen respectively.

We also do golf, not to mention parking;

I laughed my a** off with that Rubberbandits song (and video). That's more comedy than it is music but still... :lol:

Liked Simon McBride's music. He's seems like a nice bluesman!

Oh New York... The main destination as a tourist who's visiting the States (at least for the people I know). Although I'm not that crazy about New York (no offense there mate I still like the city! 8) ) I would love to set foot at the MSG, Central Park and explore the town. Seems like good fun (taking all due precautions ofc!)

Simon McBride played through my bass rig one time, so that's my claim to fame in blues circles.
Rory is an interesting one, born in Donegal, raised in Cork, but still from the north.
Also, Stairway to Heaven was first played live in Belfast. Apparently it got booed. 8)

If I committed a faux paux by mentioning Rory, I apologize. Cultural difference can be confusing at times, only on the Fender Forum can we find a bridge.

Great idea for a thread.

Maryland between Baltimore and Washington Dc The culture in Md in Taxation. We pay taxes on everything making us the one of the highest taxed states in the U.S. This year they started taxing us on RAIN, I kid you not we have a rain tax! And this year they indexed part of the gas taxes so that as gas goes up so does the tax but the base amount stays the same.

Property tax state and county, Income tax, sales tax 6%, Flush tax (Toilets), Rain tax, Tobacco and liquor tax on top of sales tax, Entertainment tax, these don't count all the fees we pay like Tags and sewage and on. :shock:
