Also on this day, 7/20/2005 James Doohan, "Scotty" from Star Trek died on the anniversary of Apollo 11 moon landing.

Ouch. :!: :shock: I watched that landing from the lounge in the dorm at the University of Vermont where I was taking a chemistry course that summer.....44 years ago. :? :?

I thought at the time of the moon landing, the irony of Star Trek going off the air, and a moon landing in the same time period.

I thought Scotty left the Enterprise E in a shuttle after helping the Enterprise to escape from a Dyson sphere.

"Where No Man Has Gone Before" was the first Star Trek episode to be shown in the UK by the BBC on July 12, 1969.

He did. But he left Jimmy behind as back-up.
