I was two years old, apparently I was sat on the potty while Neil Armstrong fluffed the most famous line in history.

I was 17 going into my Sr. year in high school, watching it live on TV with Walter Cronkite on CBS. I was in awe as it all happened.

As a child of the late 60's, my earliest childhood memory is of being in the back yard with my mum pointing up at the night sky and the moon and telling me there were "men up there right now". I didn't understand what she meant but it stuck in my memory, I think it would have been the Apollo 11 crew - "Houston we have a problem" - making their return to Earth in 1971.

Apollo 13, "Houston We Have A Problem", was April 1970

I was 18 and totally agree! It was an amazing moment that somehow we all felt part of.

Peace,

Without doubt, one of the greatest moments in the History of Mankind !!

I was enetering my Senior year and watched it on an old Zenith B&W 19" console TV. When Armstrong (R.I.P.) and Aldrin stepped into the sunlight, it basically washed out most of the screen.

cheers!

That would have made it 43 years ago last April, not 44 years and not today. It's still 2013 ... I think ... unless we're all in the matrix and it's really 2213.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Yep July 1969 was 44 years ago unless my maths (plural im English) is even worse than normal!

I remember listening to a peep called James Burke on the BBC while it was all going on, I was 8 years old.

The picture was terrible, we only had a little B/W telly then, later I found out the actual pics from the moon were just as bad hehe.

Awesome stuff. 8)

I remember it well...we had just got our first color console TV (an RCA IIRC) and watched in all unfold. My cousins were over and my cousin Nick kept going "They Have Flies On The Moon?" because a fly kept landing on the TV...well it was a lot funnier when we were seven years old...
