Just received my "Fender; The Inside Story" book by Forest White yesterday. Kinda thumbed through it a little to get a bit of a preview and looks like it is going to be well worth reading about how the company was started by Clarence "Leo" Fender and the goings on behind the scenes. Books like these are what I enjoy reading. I have read similar books like this titled 'The Legend of Briggs & Stratton",..."The Legend of Mercury",...a book about Mercury outboards for those of you who might enjoy boating,..."Evinrude/Johnson & the Legend of OMC" and finally "Iron Fist; The Lives of Carl Kiekhafer",...the founder of Mercury Marine. It's time to get started reading about Mr. Fender! :D It's also time to get back to playing and yes,...practicing,...I was temporarily side lined with a very mild case of tendonitis in my right wrist, but it's gone now. :)

Sounds cool. Those are some of my favourite type of books. I even like to read Bass For Dummies (or whatever it is called) even though I've been playing for 25 years. It reminds me of starting out, a much more simple and optimistic time, at least musically fro me. Frustrating, though, because you can barely play.

I wish somebody would come out with a Fender book based on rarities..and prototypes. There are so many out there, seems like.

That would be cool. Another thing I'm interested in is the odd ball, or unpopular amps they've made, especially from the 80's and 90's. Just about everyone knows what a Twin is, for a good reason. I guess I'd like to know more about the underdog stuff. For example, I came across some solid state amp that was 140 watts and have no clue about it. It probably was only made for a year or two, for all I know.

I'd like to if I can find any. It was for sale awhile back on (I think so, at least) on the Guitar Center site. Who knows, it might still be there. I'll have to do some digging and see if I can find anything.

Anyone who loves Fender amps will like that book,...I have a copy of it and can never put it down as I find the images of the vintage amps quite interesting,...along with reading about the circuits they used at the time and how they differed from model to model!
