Built my first pedalboard. I'm new to soldering as well, but I included onboard in /out and power.

Very cool pedalboard, even cooler response to the allegation.

I liked the locking 1/4" input especially...

Yeah, the Neutrik locking inputs are really nice.

Looks very nicely built, I like how there are so many build threads on the forum right now.

One thing I would say is that you've got an input socket very near a mains power inlet and that's just asking for hum problems.

I'm new to this, how does that create hum issues?

The mains power lead (and any mains wiring inside an amplifier) generates an electromagnetic field around the wire. If this field passes too cloes to your audio wiring then it can induce hum voltage that gets picked up by the pedals and amplified along with the guitar signal.

Personally I'd have placed the power inlet at least four inches from any audio wiring. You may find that if you have a high-gain distortion pedal on the board then you start to notice 50 or 60 Hz mains hum.

Ah, good to know. I'll power it from an external source and listen for a difference. I plan to build more boards, or at least another one, and i'll make sure to reposition the mains.

I appreciate the info.

very nice, clean board man. I've been looking at neutriks and all that myself.... seems like everyone really loves them. might have to get a few and try it out.
