I'm no expert, but I don't think they had 12 pickguard screws and that's what I count in the pic.

Maybe someone can confirm.

cheers!

Hmm, all I have to compare it with is this authentic fender reproduction and like Lightning says, 12 screws?

I think you guys are counting a pickup screw as a pickguard screw.
It looks legit to me.

Does the logo look right? It seems so close to the edge:

That top picture does look strange. I've never seen a Fender logo like that on a Strat, but then again I'm not a historian or some Strat expert. Maybe somebody around here knows more about it, I'm sure.

why doesn't it say 'stratocaster' anywhere on the headstock ?

id be very wary. if I saw that logo on a righty, I wouldn't go anywhere near it. ive not seen enough LH guitars to be that definite on it though.

also left handed strats with the big black lettering seem to have fender in the round bit of the headstock, then Stratocaster along the length of it.

so even if this was real, and the Stratocaster label had rubbed off leaving zero marks  , it would read 'Stratocaster fender', which is rubbish and not something I imaging fender would have done.

The logo is fine. My 71 lefty only has the Fender part. They've done it both ways over the years, with and without the Stratocaster part.

Check out lefties at gbase to compare.

Flip it backwards, then get it.

It's broken

wow, that seems pretty.... silly. I did a quick google and didn't see anything that looked like that. ive never seen anything like it.

I wonder why they would choose not to put the strat name on it ?

Just go search at gbase and you'll see a couple.

Here's a picture of my 1971 lefty (with maple fingerboard):

how do we know all the guitars at gbase are legit? I can't anywhere on their website where they claim to be an authorized Fender dealer.
