Have any of you seen these yet?

The new Standard Strat HSS Swirl. No two are the same.

Very nice. Reminds me of the short-lived and massively desirable Bowling Ball Strat.

Seems to me it could be hit or miss. I kind of like the one I posted, but I didn't care too much for one in the link.

the method for making this type of paint job is very simple.
check out youtube vids on swirl paint on guitars.

I like the concept, if done right, it could look really good.

Not such a fan of the Git pictured though.

Also intrigued with using a sort of Spin Paint technique similar to those old Spin Art toys for kids. Again, it'd have to be done right (colors, pattern, etc.). You'd have to practice a bit on a bunch of carboard mock-ups to get everything right before using the actual body.

cheers!

Just thought, I've got a 1983 2-knob Stratocaster, I could strip the finish and swirl paint it and sell it as a Bowling Ball Strat on Ebay.

Those are very cool, of course I'm known for liking "different" paint schemes. Look at my basses after all.

I've seen how these are done on Youtube before but let my son airbrush mine instead. But I think maple necks are better looking and playing, to each his own.

reminds me too much of those superball Ibanez guitars

Image

It looks 1000 times better on the Fenders, but I still look at that paint and think 'Ibanez'

Woof, those Ibanez's are pretty bright. Perhaps avoiding the neon pink makes a HUGE difference. I can see what you mean though.

yeah they were so ugly with that neon paint. It's one of my least favorite guitar paint schemes ever. If not for that, I'd probably like Fender's version of the superball a lot more.
