I no longer drink any alcohol, at all, and have felt my energy level rising by the day.

I no longer drink* but one of the most interesting beers I ever had in my drinking days was a Cervesa Superior...a Mexican brew (duh) that was crisp and light without being watery. Plus, the bottle had a dimple/insert in the base that could be used to twist off the bottle cap of another beer...yeah, it was just a little non-taste-enhancing detail, but it was cool.

The only place I ever found/drank it was in Puerto Vallarta.

*After I quit drinking in 1998, Miller Brewing Company has changed ownership twice and merged with another major brewing company.

Coincidence? I think not!

Just returned from an Alaskan cruise and a stay over in Victoria, BC. Presently writing from my son's home in Bellevue WA. One of the things about travel is playing Russian roulette with the local beer menus trying to find something akin to Newcastle Brown Ale.

I love when people feel the need to point out they don't drink and as a result feel better.

I'm not sure who that was directed at, but you might remember that certain 12-step programs promote people stating their happiness and success in sobriety, in order to encourage persons who may be fearful of getting help.

I have never been a member of any group or program (it didn't appeal to me and wasn't necessary--I didn't have a severe problem but decided to quit drinking cold turkey and never had the desire to go back) but I admire those who walk the walk and talk the talk; if it helps them, good for them.

No mean to offend, wasn't directed at you. Came from a long line of people that could use sobriety. You're great on this board because you don't push or preach. I appreciate it. Plus, having lived in Texas, I have a lot of respect of the rock and roll you folks make. Sobriety comes for everyone differently when they need it (and for some it doesn't).

It's more the whole preachy healthy thing that pisses me off (kind of like the Cross Fit cult members that won't let it go). All things in moderation. Except for rock and roll.
