Yeah me to Chet; they were in response to the perceptions that only gangs (beer drinkers and hell raisers, loose women etc) ride motorcycles!
I was once told I was "going to go to (the hot place) if you (meaning me) keep riding that motorcycle"!
I have run into a stronger elitist kind of attitude with Gibson players than Fender players. It could just be me but it seems maybe it's that they have the means to spend more money or it's that I can't (it's really that I won't) on a guitar.
At one time I thought if I just got the guitar (a Gibson) all the hot players were using I'd be hot too; well" it don't work that way" and when I figured that out I went back to Fender because of the value/$$ ratio sure, but the sound is very cool and the layout on the Strat just make more sense to me.

Being different is what makes life interesting!!! Can you imagine what it would be like if we were all the same? That would be clone-like!!! Not Cool!!! Anyway, I've been happy with this forum too. I like being able to discuss my interest with rock n' roll and music to people who are interested in the same thing. This forum is like a melting pot of musical interests!!!!
