lol, dude, I wasn't judging you.

I'm the person in threads who always has the far out opinion and gives the benefit of the doubt.

Sorry for being so defensive then . I've been through a lot lately myself with this diabetes, so I hope you understand .

Just on the diabetes issue, it's got to be extremely badly controlled if it affects your vision within one year of diagnosis. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 7, I've needed four insulin shots a day for the last 39 years, my eyes are tip top and I still have a full complement of fingers and toes. Diabetic retinopathy within one year is almost unheard of. If you need stronger glasses then that's not due to the diabetes, that's just plain old myopia. Retinopathy is a defect of the cornea, patients with poor glycemic control start to grow a network of tiny new blood vessels across the cornea. These new vessels are prone to sudden rupture causing a bleed inside the eye which can result in sudden uni- or bilateral loss of vision.

tl;dr - if you have any form of diabetes you should be seeing an ophthamologist at least every 6 months. And don't eat sugar. And don't smoke or drink alcohol. And take plenty of exercise, walk at least half a mile a day. Easy as that.

EDIT: and do your blood tests regularly, do not skimp on those.

EDIT EDIT: send me a private message if you have any questions about managing diabetes or just need to vent.

EDIT the 3rd: legal disclaimer: I am not a doctor. If your doctor tells you to eat sugar and smoke then do what he/she says.

After I got diagnosed ,I did take metformin for a while but, I stopped taking it when my doseage ran out and never bothered renewing it. I just started eating anything and just didn't care. A few months ago, I noticed that my vision was starting to get blurry, so my wife set me up with another doctor's appt. where it was determined that my blood suger was up to the 400 mark and that I needed to start taking insulin because I had let myself go. So I ended up getting a new eyeglass prescription and now am very careful about what I eat and do monitor my blood sugar 2x daily. It's now back down to about the 130 mark, which is a lot better and I take my dog our for walks 3-5 times daily as well along with now going back to Karate after taking a 3 year hiatus from it. Now that my wife and I are going to have our son's adoption final next month , I want to be there for when he grows up and has kids of his own. By the way, I did quit smoking and drinking over 12 years ago.

Yes, and it's tuna that's been sitting in the sun for a while...

I don't know why the OP insists on telling tall tales constantly on this Forum. He lies about guitars he owns, guitars he's sold, but supposedly still owns... guitars he's bought back for a measly $225, then given away again, then bought back again for an amazing $700. I don't think the OP could scrape together $700 if he had a chance to pick up a CS Strat in a back alley.

And now we get the woeful tale of being a diabetic, apparently causing a loss of memory about something that happened in a parallel universe 16 long months ago. There's a need here for sure, a need to be accepted as more than he is, a need to be the owner of guitars that have come and gone, a need to be a special friend... whatever.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jeff, I think you have some serious issues. If you're going to try to ingratiate yourself with unknowing people on this Forum by coming up with stories that paint you as a wonderful guy, you need to cover your tracks (and those old stories) a lot better.

http://www.talkfender.com/forum/showthr ... It-Out-!!!!

And for those who might have missed it, here's a more recent thread...

+1

I'd like to be one of those "wonderful guy" types (I accepted long ago that that will never be).

I'd like to be considered a "special friend" by someone. Anyone. (that ain't happening either).

But when I stand before THE MAN in final judgment, I do so knowing that I never willfully deceived those in my orbit or even those with which I have had only a passing-and-anonymous acquaintance. Telling "war stories" with one's buddies is one thing but staging continuous public pity parties to ingratiate oneself with a peer group is indicative of a seriously dysfunctional personality.

Four ... hundred ... ? For Type 2 diabetes? Are you sure?

Only the highest blood glucose my doctor has ever seen for someone with uncontrolled Type 1 (insulin controlled) diabetes was 33. The meters don't read much higher than that.

Frank, you're dealing with a guy who makes everything up as he goes along - it's not worth your effort.

Yeah, I haven't even bothered to get into the OP's wildly varying stories about all of his come and gone amplifiers... but I could round up some old threads on that Fender Stage 85 with little trouble...

Serious, serious problems... and lots of old archived photos...

Well as much as I abhor people feigning illness for attention, I'm kinda new here so I will take posts at face value until all the evidence is in.

I've posted guitar pics that were taken 10 years ago, I don't think people take new photos of gear every time they make a post!

Anyway, yeah. It's still a nice Stratocaster.
