Fave To Play- Zeps Ten Years Gone (Simple but tastey)

Fave to listen to- Benny Goodmans "Solo Flight" Charlie Christian unleashed!

This could all change by tommorow

Ten Years Gone is one of my favorite songs to play. I keep telling myself I should record it with all the overdubs just to see how it comes out.

Me too! Soon as I get a little better at Home recording. I also want to do an Acoustic "Carouselambra". I've got the Keyboard Parts all figured out on Mandolin.

You should do it and send a copy to John Paul Jones. I bet he'd dig it. The mando for synth idea is pretty cool.
I really liked In Through The Out Door.

In Through the Out Door is great! It's like John Paul Jones' Zep Album. Fool In The Rain is way out there, for Zep, and one of my Fave tunes.

Now that you mention it, that's a very Progressive Album, So is Presence. Achille's Last Stand is very Rushy.

Thanks for the Idea, BTW. I'm gonna send that in to JPJ

I think the best solo ever written would have to be from the song, "Cover Of The Rolling Stone" by Dr. Hook. The tone and phrasing are simply brilliant.

Mine is a toss up between the "Let It Be" solo (played by George Harrison) and the Whos's "The Rock" played by Pete Townshend. There's no singing in "The Rock" but it is AMAZING!!!! Especially his solo at about 2 minutes and 43 seconds into the song. Keith Moon's drumming is pretty cool too!!! I can't describe the "Let It Be" solo. It probably sounds cheezy, but it gives me this wierd feeling inside. Some songs give people different reactions, and that's what that one does to me. :)

The Let It Be solo is my favourite too. The album version, of course, not the single.

It's that rosewood Tele, with a little crunch... whenever it plays on the radio, people know that I'm going to point it out.

I love way too many to pick one favorite. I'm a big Jimmy Page fan so I like a lot of Zep solos. Cream-era Clapton especially "Crossrads". Steely Dan had great guitar solos in their songs by guys like Larry Carlton, Denny Diaz, 'Skunk' Baxter and a bunch of others.

The solo I really wanted to learn as a kid was from 'Stairway to Heaven". I guess that's kind of a cliche today.
