I wanted to try and get a decent distorted tone out of my Tele since I mostly play clean with it, and this is what came out of it.

I recorded the main crunchy rhythm twice and panned one left and the other right, which had more of an effect than I expected, kinda fun to fool around with. :)

I think you're better off trying to get fuzz, instead of distortion from a Telecaster.

I like the distortion, playing - and the tune . Panning similar takes right and left is a great way of broadening the stereo image. If you ever play acoustic , you should try the same. Interesting effect ! Rock on 8)

You'll need hotter single-coils (a fat humbucker in the neck should work fine too! :) ) to get a really scorching hot lead sound from your Tele.

Throw a sizzling HotRails stack in the bridge and a creamy SH-1 '59 in the neck hooked into a super 5-way switch.

Amp settings and effects are also important factors for getting a good muscled rock tone.

Try boosting the mids{EQ} on the dist trk,,its a bit buried in the mix.IHO. Great sparky little tune though.

Thanks to everyone who checked out the track! I totally appreciate the comments and tips :D

I tinkered a lot with my Boss DS-2 and the gain and EQ on my Marshall amp to see how the Tele would respond. I ended up pretty happy with the tone but I think I would still default to the humbucker on my HSS Strat for distorted tracks most of the time.

The Tele will likely remain stock as long as I own her, I just love her the way she is. 8)

No technical tips. I liked the groove, ideas, chops and execution. All worked for me.

+1 for me. I have a Texas Tele with "hot vintage" pickups, and they can go about anywhere.

That's a mighty fine compliment and I thank you sir. What this track is missing is a bass line if you know what I'm gettin' at

If I had a copy, that could be arranged.
Could be fun too.
